OSGEO:Protected page guidelines

Sometimes pages get protected when they reach a status in which they are subject to approval and voting for adoption as general policy. Official pages are then also copied to OSGeo's main web site at http://www.osgeo.org and the corresponding Wiki page is either frozen or kept active for further discussion on the topic.
Removing Page Protection
If you find an existing page that is protected but contains misleading or wrong information that you would like to edit then feel free to contact one of the OSGeo Wiki:Administrators.
Requesting for Page Protection
In general there should be no need to protect pages from further editing but as a committee member you can request that a page should be protected. Contact one of the OSGeo Wiki:Administrators giving your reasons for protection.
