I work as GIS Manager at EDIA, S.A. in Portugal, and also as an independent GIS professional. I mainly use the PostGIS-MapServer-QGIS-OpenLayers stack, and I&nbsp;try to help out users in the forums and through personal contact. *A minha formação de base é Eng.ª Agronómica. Logo após o curso participei num projecto de investigação cujo objectivo era desenvolver uma aplicação SIG para gestão da rega, baseada em software Open Source. Estávamos em 1994, e o sistema operativo usado era uma variante Linux. Foi a minha introdução a FOSS.

*Na tese de mestrado, utilizei software ESRI - ArcInfo numa estação de trabalho Unix. Foi a minha introdução a software SIG de fonte fechada. O ano era 1996.

*Participei em diversos projectos, principalmente com software ESRI. Fui colaborador da ESRI Portugal entre 2000 e 2003. A partir de 2004, assumi a direcção do departamento de SIG da EDIA, onde a equipa tem vindo a construir uma plataforma SIG para servir as várias áreas técnicas desta empresa, passando pelo Ambiente, Agricultura, Engenharia e Expropriações.

Breve apresentação

  • A minha formação de base é Eng.ª Agronómica.
