Welcome to the official wiki page of OSGeo Nepal, a revitalized local chapter of the Open Source Geospatial Foundation (OSGeo). Initially started in 2014 and now being resumed, we are a community-driven initiative dedicated to promoting and supporting the use of open source geospatial technologies in Nepal. Our aim is to bring together enthusiasts, professionals, and individuals interested in geospatial technology to collaborate, learn, and contribute to the field.

We are currently in the process to initiate Nepal Chapter. We are developing our mission and objectives that will support and promote the growth of free and open source geospatial software. Nepal Chapter intends to foster collaboration with universities, research institutes, private sector, government sector and other like minded individuals to localize existing software, develop new ones, train and promote the uses of these tools. At the initial stage, we plan to collaborate with these institutes and organization: Dept. of Civil and Geomatics Engineering, Kathmandu University; Institute of Engineering, Dept. of Architecture and Urban Planning, Tribhuvan University; School of Environmental Science and Management (SchEMS), Pokhara University; FOSS Nepal Community; Other collaborators
