The OSGeo Community Project Initiative is established to foster innovation and collaboration resulting in a lower barrier of entry to join the OSGeo Family.

About this initaitve:

  1. Applicants are welcomed by the incubation committee.
  2. Community projects are recognized as part of the OSGeo family and can proudly show the "OSGeo Community" badge on their website!
  3. OSGeo Board supports community projects with activities such as sponsorship and fundraising.
  4. Established community projects may wish to apply to the OSGeo "incubation" process to be recognized as full OSGeo Project (with independent steering committee and budget allocation).
