Overview

"PhilGEOS 2012 is 1st symposium on Geomatics in the Philippines. It is envisioned to be a major gathering of educators, researchers and the industry in the field of Geomatics from different parts of the country."

OSGeo-PH and the PhilGEOS Organizing team will host a series of pre-conference workshop showcasing free and open source technologies. Likewise, an exhibit booth will be installed during the event for OSGeo and OpenStreetMap.

Advance Cartography with Quantum GIS Maning Sambale

Quantum GIS ( [QGIS http://www.qgis.org] ) is a user friendly Open Source Geographic Information System (GIS) that runs on several operating systems (Linux, Unix, Mac OSX, Windows and Android). QGIS supports vector, raster, and database formats. QGIS is licensed under the GNU Public License. This workshop is a technical demonstration and hands-on tutorial in the use of QGIS using the advance cartographic styling features of the application.
