I am an academician working as a full Professor at the Department of Biosystem Engineering at Faculty of Agriculture in, Namik Kemal University in Tekirdag - Turkey. I have completed my doctorate PhD study on water resources management topic in 1991. With my curiosity about technological advancement of computer programming related to agriculture, I’ve been started to working on GIS & RS from 1999. I have conducted many researches and studies with on the usage of programming software’s, which I bought by myself. Upon those researches related topics are; The specific subjects I am currently interested in include classification of territories, observation of change of territories and land, water resources management, forecast and approximation of agricultural yield and efficiency etc. First, I’ve interest on the GRASS GIS software and between 2009-2010, I’ve managed tried to educate train myself on GIS software with the aid of from a book entitled “Open source GIS: A GRASS GIS Approach” by Neteler, M. and Mitasova, H., (2008). However, I could not reach to the level I desire. I had taken part in the Project of “Integrated Land-Use Management Modelling of Black Sea Estuaries (ILMMBSE,)” as Data Management Coordinator. This Project was conducted by European Union, with help of Blacksea Cooperation and carried out by Turkish, Bulgarian, Georgian and Ukrainian governments between 2013-2015. During this project, I have participated in a course for 2 days at beginner level, related to on Open Sources Software’s. These courses were mainly related OSGeo and, QGIS, which increased my curiosity about Open Source GIS software’s. After my experiences on in international projects, I have taken interest on Open Source Software’s seriously. I am still self-improving about the software’s and trying to increase improve my knowledge on those programs. I have attended online courses in internet, such as QGIS, Geoserver, Postgres, GRASS, Introduction to QGIS Python Programming, etc.
