Sudhira obtained his Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore for his thesis on “Studies on Urban Sprawl and Spatial Planning Support System for Bangalore, India”. His primary research is studying the evolution of towns and cities using trans-disciplinary approaches. With a focus for taking theory to practice and vice-versa, he has been part of a variety of sustainable initiatives. He is also a neogeographer, using and propagating free-and-open-source mapping tools, making maps of cities and ecosystems.
