I have a Master's degree in Geology and have recently been introduced to Open Source software. I intend to use FOSS for Geological applications in the areas of mapping and data collection and analysis. I have recently been exposed to GeoODK and am will be using it for collecting data on ground water wells and water harvesting potential in the PUne metropolitan area.

I am also presently involved in developing learning materials especially for ZOO-Project and currently engaged in organising training/workshops/ in collaboration with OSGeo India and OSGeo Thailand.

Presently working on two projects using ODK tools - Ground water wells and water harvesting potential in the Pune metropolitan area and mapping of Landslide prone areas in Western Maharashtra. For these projects we plan to use crowd sourcing methods for data collection

I have also been instrumental in translation of the ODK Collect app to an Indian language and working on the translation to another Indian language.

I have been introduced to OSGeo by the Prof. Venkatesh Raghavan, President OSGEO.
