About
In the moment I am a student of Geography(major), Computer Science(1st minor) and Cartography(2nd minor) at the Universities of Cologne and Bonn.
I am (hopefully) in my last year as student working at the GIS & RS Workingroup of the Institute of Geography at the University of Cologne as student staff.
past Work
I was an Intern at:
- WhereGroup (May - August 2008)
- GLERL (May - October 2007)
I worked at:
actual Work
I am an student research assistant at GIS & RS Workingroup at Institute of Geography of the University of Cologne. Where I work on several Projects:
- Maintaining a Eumetsat/Eumetcast Data Reception Station.
- SeismoGIS (an ArcObjects Project, where I wrote an Extension to connect Seisan Measurement Data into ArcGIS).
- Several Webmapping Projects.
I am about to start my Diploma Thesis on 3D-GIS Webmaping Technologies.
I plan to do a Ph.D. after my Diploma in the RS & GIS/Computergraphics Field.
Interests
My favourite (work/research) Topics are:
- Computergraphics
- 3D (Web)GIS Technology
In my studies I worked also on Remote Sensing, Environmental Modeling(especially Agent Based Modeling) and Geostatistics.
Motivation
I prefer working with opensource software because I support the Ideas behind FOSS and especially OSGeo.
And I am on an "subversive" mission to establish Opensource Software at the GIS & RS Workingroup in research and education. ;)
