Hội nghị quốc tế về Phần mềm mã mở miễn phí cho Địa không gian (FOSS4G), được tổ chức tại Sydney, Úc từ 20-23 tháng 10, 2009, bây giờ đang nhận đăng ký tham dự.

FOSS4G thu hút đông đảo các nhà tài trợ và hiện thực hệ thống Mã mở và Chuẩn mở Địa không gian. Với các chủ đề trải rộng từ việc tích hợp Mã mở với các hệ thống có bản quyền đến việc xây dựng Nền tảng Dữ liệu Không gian cũng như ứng dụng của các Chuẩn Địa không gian Mở, hội nghị mang đến một cơ hội độc nhất để tiếp cận, chia sẻ kho kiến thức và kinh nghiệm giữa các nhà phát triển Mã mở, nhà tài trợ và các chuyên gia địa không gian thuộc tất cả các trường phái. Tổ chức Open Geospatial (OGC) dẫn dắt hội thảo với một showcase tích hợp theo chuẩn dựa trên ngữ cảnh thay đổi khí hậu, trình diễn việc tích hợp giữa các ứng dụng Mã mở và Có bản quyền.

Cùng với một chương trình phong phú mang đến nhiều suy ngẫm, các bài thuyết trình và workshop  mà bạn mong muốn có ở một hội nghị quốc tế, FOSS4G mang đến rất nhiều đặc trưng truyền thống của mã mở. Với các buổi sinh hoạt Hội những người cùng sở thích (Brid of a Feather), tỷ thí code, ngày hội cài đặt và các cuộc họp dự án tự phát, bạn sẽ có cơ hội  tham gia vào các cộng đồng tích cực và các dự án đa dạng. FOSS4G mang đến những gì tốt nhất của các cộng đồng mở, như tính cấp tiến, sự cộng tác, nhiệt tình và chân thành.

Đăng ký trước chỉ mất 725 AUD (gần bằng 525 USD) cho 3 ngày hội nghị và bài giảng, hoặc 375 AUD (gần bằng 270 USD) cho một ngày workshop của các nhà thuyết trình quốc tế giỏi nhất.
