= Introduction =

Birds of a Feather (BoF) sessions are unstructured timeslots where people can self-organise themselves to discuss topics of interest.

== General Information ==

At the [http://2026.foss4g.org FOSS4G 2026] conference in Firenze, a number of spaces have been reserved for people to flock together in Birds of a Feather sessions.

=== How to organize a BOF ===

BoF sessions are informal gatherings of people around a specific topic. BoF's can be held in: BoF rooms or taken off-site for breakfast, lunch or dinner!

The FOSS4G conference provides the spaces, but the setup of the bird-of-feather meetup is done informally using this wiki.

The BoF sessions rooms used are the ones in which the conference takes place, and are available during the hours listed below:

== Community Sprint ==

This year, we are following the OSGeo tradition of hosting a community sprint right after [https://2026.foss4g.org/en/ FOSS4G 2026].

Participation is free of charge and anyone involved or interested in getting involved in OSGeo community projects is welcome.

Furthermore, community sprints provide an opportunity for those with little experience in FOSS4G community activities, or those who want to start community activities, to learn how to conduct community activities from more experienced members.

You can choose to contribute to one or more projects. The sky is the limit. There’s always plenty to do – it’s not all about programming. Translation, documentation, feedback, discussions, and testing are very important for projects! Conference registration is not a prerequisite for participation in community sprint.
