After twelve successful years, we'll continue the OSGeo "hacking" event in Bolsena in an [http://www.conventobolsena.org/ Italian monastery] ([http://www.openstreetmap.org/?mlat=42.646585&mlon=11.99335&zoom=14&layers=M see map location], and videos: [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9wrZrK64UIw 2008-video], [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mxox3AsjH6Q 2009-video] and [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Vjx06Rlols 2010-video]. The monastery is overlooking Lago Bolsena and offers space to about 25 people in small bedrooms :-) . It is one of the coolest places for such an event. Quiet, isolated, simple and serene. Have a look yourself, including looking at the photo gallery.
For what the food concerns, we cook elaborate meals you will definitely enjoy :-) . There's a large dining space, but we will eat outside overlooking the lake if weather permits (very likely in June).

The all inclusive cost will be 550 Euro (Excl VAT) per person for the full week. You can stay all seven days and food (breakfast, lunch and dinner) is included in the price. As in previous years, we will go out for a city visit and a dinner on one of the evenings (also included).

The event will take place during the whole week (5 days), although the emphasis will probably be Monday to Friday for most participants.

The closest airports are the Roma airports (Ciampino and Fiumincino).

From Rome to the monastery there is 135 km aproximately.

There is no railway to Bolsena.

From Fiumicino to Rome you can take the train [http://www.adr.it/web/aeroporti-di-roma-en-/pax-fco-train METROPOLITANO FR1].

From Rome you can take a bus (cotral http://www.cotralspa.it/ENG/capolinea.asp) to Viterbo and other bus from viterbo to Bolsena (9am & 7.30pm).

Alternatively you can take a train from Rome to Orvieto and take a taxi from Orvieto to Bolsena. Orvieto Taxi info:

From Bolsena main street to the Monastery is aproximately 1 km.

It could be interesting to rent a private bus or several cars to move from Rome to the Monastery and from the Monastery to Rome.

From Rome to the monastery there is 135 km aproximately.

There is no railway to Bolsena.

From Fiumicino to Rome you can take the train [http://www.adr.it/web/aeroporti-di-roma-en-/pax-fco-train METROPOLITANO FR1].

From Rome you can take a bus (cotral http://www.cotralspa.it/ENG/capolinea.asp) to Viterbo and other bus from viterbo to Bolsena (9am & 7.30pm).

Alternatively you can take a train from Rome to Orvieto and take a taxi from Orvieto to Bolsena. Orvieto Taxi info:

After nine successful years, we'll continue the OSGeo "hacking" event in Bolsena in an [http://www.conventobolsena.org/ Italian monastery] ([http://www.openstreetmap.org/?mlat=42.646585&mlon=11.99335&zoom=14&layers=M see map location], and videos: [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9wrZrK64UIw 2008-video], [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mxox3AsjH6Q 2009-video] and [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Vjx06Rlols 2010-video]. The monastery is overlooking Lago Bolsena and offers space to about 25 people in small bedrooms :-) . It is one of the coolest places for such an event. Quiet, isolated, simple and serene. There's a good wireless and wired internet connection, further improved this year. It should be perfect for git, IRC and mail. Have a look yourself, including looking at the photo gallery.
For what the food concerns, we will have a cook who will take care of us :-) . There's a large dining space, but we will eat outside overlooking the lake if weather permits (very likely in June).

The all inclusive cost will be 550 Euro (Excl VAT) per person for the full week. You can stay all seven days and food (breakfast, lunch and dinner) is included in the price. As in previous years, we will go out for a city visit and a dinner on one of the evenings (also included).

The event will take place during the whole week (7 days), although the emphasis will probably be Monday to Friday for most participants.

The monastery is overlooking Lago Bolsena and offers space to about 25 people in small bedrooms :-) . It is one of the coolest places for such an event. Quiet, isolated, simple and serene. There's a good wireless and wired internet connection, further improved this year. It should be perfect for git, IRC and mail. Have a look yourself, including looking at the photo gallery.
For what the food concerns, we will have a cook who will take care of us :-) . There's a large dining space, but we will eat outside overlooking the lake if weather permits (very likely in June).

The all inclusive cost will be 550 Euro (Excl VAT) per person for the full week. You can stay all seven days and food (breakfast, lunch and dinner) is included in the price. As in previous years, we will go out for a city visit and a dinner on one of the evenings (also included).

The event will take place during the whole week (7 days), although the emphasis will probably be Monday to Friday for most participants.

After five successful years, we'll continue the OSGeo "hacking" event in Bolsena in an [http://www.conventobolsena.org/ Italian monastery] ([http://tinyurl.com/2t6zby see map location], and videos: [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9wrZrK64UIw 2008-video], [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mxox3AsjH6Q 2009-video] and [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Vjx06Rlols 2010-video]. The monastery is overlooking Lago Bolsena and offers space to about 25 people in small bedrooms :-) . It is one of the coolest places for such an event. Quiet, isolated, simple and serene. There's a good wireless and wired internet connection, further improved this year. It should be perfect for SVN, IRC and mail. Have a look yourself, including looking at the photo gallery.
For what the food concerns, we will have a cook who will take care of us :-) . There's a large dining space, but we will eat outside overlooking the lake if weather permits (very likely in June).

The all inclusive cost will be 550 Euro (Excl VAT) per person for the full week. You can stay all seven days and food (breakfast, lunch and dinner) is included in the price. As in previous years, we will go out for a city visit and a dinner on one of the evenings (also included).

The event will take place during the whole week (7 days), although the emphasis will probably be Monday to Friday for most participants.

The closest airports are the Roma airports (Ciampino and Fiumincino).

From Rome to the monastery there is 135 km aproximately.

There is no railway to Bolsena.

From Fiumicino to Rome you can take the train [http://www.adr.it/web/aeroporti-di-roma-en-/pax-fco-train METROPOLITANO FR1].

From Rome you can take a bus (cotral http://www.cotralspa.it/ENG/capolinea.asp) to Viterbo and other bus from viterbo to Bolsena (9am & 7.30pm).

Alternatively you can take a train from Rome to Orvieto and take a taxi from Orvieto to Bolsena. Orvieto Taxi info:

The closest airports are the Roma airports (Ciampino and Fiumincino).

From Rome to the monastery there is 135 km aproximately.

There is no railway to Bolsena.

From Rome you can take a bus (cotral http://www.cotralspa.it/ENG/capolinea.asp) to Viterbo and other bus from viterbo to Bolsena (9am & 7.30pm).

Monday to Friday there is a bus each hour but Sunday there are very few buses.

From Bolsena main street to the Monastery is aproximately 1 km.

It could be interesting to rent a private bus or several cars to move from Rome to the Monastery and from the Monastery to Rome.

After two successful years, we'll continue the OSGeo "hacking" event in Bolsena in an [http://www.conventobolsena.org/ Italian monastery] ([http://tinyurl.com/2t6zby see map location], and videos: [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9wrZrK64UIw 2008-video] and [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mxox3AsjH6Q 2009-video]). The monastery is overlooking Lago Bolsena and offers space to about 25 people in small bedrooms :-) . It is one of the coolest places for such an event. Quiet, isolated, simple and serene. There's a good wireless and wired internet connection, further improved this year. It should be perfect for SVN, IRC and mail. Have a look yourself, including looking at the photo gallery.
For what the food concerns, we will have a cook who will take care of us :-) . There's a large dining space, but we will eat outside overlooking the lake if weather permits (very likely in June).

The all inclusive cost will be 500 Euro per person for the full week. You can stay all seven days and food (breakfast, lunch and dinner) is included in the price. As last year, we will go out for a city visit and a dinner on one of the evenings (also included).

The event will take place during the whole week (7 days), although the emphasis will probably be Monday to Friday for most participants.

== Objet ==
Cette page vise à établir la déontologie professionnelle des membres de l'OSGeo lors de leur participation à des actions sous l'égide de l'OSGeo-fr.
Elle définit également une charte pour les entreprises qui veulent s'associer à l'OSGeo-fr pour des évènements ou des actions communes.

== Charte des sociétés participant à des actions organisées par l'OSGeo-fr==

Voici une liste de principes majeurs et incontournables auxquels devraient adhérer les entreprises participant à des actions organisées sous l'égide de l'OSGeo-fr. Ces principes sont issus de ceux qui ont été adoptés lors du [[Charte_village_2008_fr|Village OpenSource]] au GéoÉvènement 2008. Ces principes généraux servent de base de travail et de réflexion et pourront être adaptés suivant les actions spécifiques menées.

Les sociétés s'engagent à respecter les principes suivants :

* développer des solutions SIG autour de LL,
* s'engager à participer à la communauté des développeurs, en reversant les développements réalisés en propre,
* promouvoir les LL auprès de clients et de prospects en mettant en avant les atouts des LL par rapport aux logiciels propriétaires,
* s'engager à favoriser les échanges entre SSLL autour des principes ci-dessus afin de favoriser les synergies,
* s'engager à faire reconnaître une communauté française des SIG autour de solutions LL et de données géographiques libres (l'OSGeo-fr),
* Mettre le logiciel libre au coeur des solutions SIG proposées (volet technique)
* Instaurer une mise en place systématique de solutions libres dans leur offre SIG (volet commercial)
* Offrir au marché des SIG des solutions en LL de qualité qui permettent de répondre aux besoins des utilisateurs dans l'objectif d'obtenir une confiance croissante dans les LL (volet qualité)
* Soumettre au débat public des orientations possibles pour les LL en SIG et pour l'émergence de données géographiques libres (volet débats publics)
* Promouvoir une grande politique nationale et internationale en faveur des SIG autour de solutions en LL afin de faire reconnaître l'existence et la légitimité d'un secteur spécifique du SIG en LL vis-à-vis de toutes les institutions concernées (volet industriel)

== Déontologie pour la participation individuelle à des actions organisées par l'OSGeo-fr ==

Ces principes s'adressent aux individus qui ont plusieurs casquettes : membres des communautés OSGeo-fr, mais aussi professionnels de la géomatique, qui vendent du service autour des logiciels de l'OSGeo et des données OSM.

Il convient de ne pas faire de mélange des genres. Lorsqu'on représente l'association, la communauté ou un projet OpenSource en particulier, ce qui est le cas quand on fait de la présence sur un stand dans
un salon, on représente la communauté et pas son entreprise propre. Il faut que la distinction soit faite et respectée.

Lors de la participation à un salon, les démarches suivantes seront suivies :

* Impression d'un coupon papier mentionnant les prestataires de service présent en France et référencés par l'OSGeo, c'est à dire ceux, et uniquement ceux mentionnés sur la liste :

L'inscription sur cette liste est libre, les professionnels sont donc invités à le faire dès que possible afin d'être mentionné sur le coupon.

* Toutes les demandes de prestation de service sur le stand OSGeo-fr doivent être cordialement renvoyées vers la liste du coupon, en invitant le demandeur à se renseigner auprès de ces sociétés directement. On ne cite donc aucune entreprise en particulier, et d'autant moins la sienne, et on ne donne pas sa carte de visite professionnelle.

* Dans le cas un peu complexe à gérer d'un client qui vient saluer sur le stand, lui rappeller qu'il s'agit du stand osgeo-fr et l'inviter à repasser plus tard en dehors des heures de présence et dans un autre contexte.

* On me met aucun flyer ou matériel promotionnel sur le stand osgeo qui ne soit pas de l'osgeo.

One of the great attractions to an international conference like this is a chance to show off your work. At FOSS4G 2007 there was a room dedicated to the demo theatre, with facilities and schedule of its own. In 2008 we will have a demo theatre set up right in the Exhibition Hall. Viewers can take in their food and drinks and be informed and entertained by live demonstrations.

== Who can demo? ==

Any person registered for the conference can do a demo (no discount for doing a demo). The best deals if you want to attend the conference purely to give a demo are to register for just one day or with a students / academic discount if you qualify. Of course we encourage you to attend the whole conference if you can!

== Demo Schedule ==

Some things we will take into consideration when scheduling demos:
* Primary spots are during Lunches and Tea breaks (these time slots have the most walk-by traffic to feed on)
* Additional timeslots will be opened up if needed
* We will group similar content together (both to allow direct comparison and to let those interested in a topic to mark off a block of time)
* We will need to be sure not to conflict with the presentation program (setting up cool examples of GRASS opposite the GRASS track would not be a good thing)
* Demos are the last thing to be Scheduled in terms of conference priorities (we need to be sure that Labs and Presentations are accounted for first)
* If you would like to do a demonstration in the theatre, please contact the theatre coordinator (Tim Sutton - tim@linfiniti.com) or add your name and contact details below.

The first step is to have something to demo:
* You have 10 minutes
* You must demo live software (really - it is an open source software conference). No presentation slides.
* Show us, rather that talk. It is better to show software and leave time for questions than to try and handle this as a presentation.
* Source code is hard to read and does not qualify for "show us"
* You will have 5 mins to set up prior, and 5 mins to tear down. Please be prompt as there is someone waiting to start after you.
* Sponsors (or anyone starting a session): you will have access to the room for a bit before the session starts - if you want to take the time drag in a poster (or put hand outs on the chairs) more power to you.

== OSGeo Hacking event in a monastry near Bolsena (Spring 2008) ==

[[User:ticheler | I, Jeroen]], have been thinking of getting an OSGeo "hacking" or code sprint event setup in an [http://www.conventobolsena.org/ Italian monastry] ([http://tinyurl.com/2t6zby here]). Friends of mine take care of the place which is overlooking Lago Bolsena and offers space to 25 people in small bedrooms :-) . Its probably one of the coolest places for such an event. Quiet, isolated and serene. There's a good wireless and wired internet connection, although I wouldn't bet my hand on it if we all start to download satellite images. It should be perfect for SVN, IRC and mail.

The cost would be about 200 Euro per person for the week (food not included, we can organize that separately). There's a large kitchen and large dining space. Obviously since the weather most likely permits, we would eat outside overlooking the lake. Have a look yourself, including looking at the photo gallery.

If you are interested, please sign up below? Looking at availability of the place, best would be June or possibly in May (not always available!).

If there's enough interest I can make a booking. There would be 7 days time, so it can also be divided into smaller time chunks that are occupied by different projects.

As soon as there's a clearly preferred week, I will try to block that one. Please indicate multiple weeks if you have the flexibility.
