I'm an environmental engineer working in the fields of hydrology, geomorphology and hydraulic.

I love to get lost inside the development of environmental models (which I develop mostly in cooperation with the [http://www.ing.unitn.it Faculty of Environmental Engineering of the University of Trento] and are released under GPL), for which I need the base given by FOSS GIS software.

For my daily work I use only Free and Open Source products and one of my aims is the widespread of FOSS software in the professional world of engineers and geologists.

Since 2005 I'm cofounder of [http://www.hydrologis.com HydroloGIS] where we develop and use [http://www.jgrass.org JGrass] for practical applications.

We have used JGrass for geomorphologic and hydrologic elaboration in various places such as many Italian regions, Zambia and Tibet.
