Alex Mandel mentioned the possibility of having an OSGeo booth at the California Geographer's Conference in Chico in May 2008. There has not been as much activity on the California Chapter as I had hoped. We have established a mailing list for the proposed chapter, but it does not have a lot of traffic currently. Alex Mandel mentioned the possibility of having an OSGeo booth at the California Geographer's Conference in Chico in May 2008. I am currently working with Alex to make arrangments for the booth.
Some of those interested in having a California Chapter suggested splitting the group into regions because of the size of the state. I placed a temporary incubator web site for the chapter at http://www.redefinedhorizons.com/calosgeo/.
