FOSS4G 2009 Volunteers

There are a number tasks at the conference where we will need extra hands. If you expect that you will be able to help out at times during the conference, then please add you name against the specific tasks here. If you are volunteering, please share your contact details with the coordinator.

Presentation Coordinators

Presentation Coordinators are required to provide the following duties:

• Be in your designated room 10-15 minutes prior to the first presentation beginning.
• Ensure that each presentation does not go over the allotted time: 30 minutes including time for questions and hand over.
• Introduce each presentation to the audience - Presenters name, organisation and presentation title is sufficient. Details for each presentation, presenter and their bio's are on the FOSS4G2009 website.
• Provide subtle guidance to the presenter when they have 5 minutes left of their alloted time slot.
• Have on hand a phone and the Arinex contact details for any AV assistance/requirements

Jody Garnett has offered to act as back up for Parkside 110A as he will be in the room for Demo Theatre reasons anyway.

General Dogs-Body

• Parkside G04, on Ground level. In the Parkside Foyer on level one, there are some escalators near the Auditorium which lead down to G04.

Workshop tear down

OSGeo Booth

   Thanks for Volunteering everyone!

We need people to help 'man' (or is that 'person ;-) ) the OSGeo Booth during FOSS4G-2009.

The booth will be a centre of activity and you will get to meet a lot of the OSGeo personalities.

Please volunteer for a half hour session, or two, or three...

• Lorenzo Becchi will stay at the OSGeo Booth most of the time. Escaping only for a couple of presentations or special meetings.
• Arnulf Christl will stay at the OSGeo Booth most of the time. Escaping only for his own presentations and to moderate a session.
• Cameron Shorter, plans to position himself for most of the conference at the OSGeo booth, switching hats between OSGeo, FOSS4G chair, and LISAsoft (LISAsoft has sponsored the charging station next to OSGeo's booth)
• LISAsoft intends to provide 2 employees for the booth at all times, Mark Leslie, Jody Garnett and Jim Groffen will also be distracted with workshops and the demo theatre, Lee Hughes, Juliet Lin and Terry Collins will be covering.
