Open Source geospatial developer at European Commission - Joint Research Centre.

Simone is a GeoNode core developer active in the geo open source since 2007 who loves open source and geospatial software.

He studied Environmental Engineering at the Politecnico di Torino and got a Ph.D. in Geomatics in the field of Humanitarian Emergency Management at ITHACA.

In 2011 he became Geospatial analyst officer at the United Nations World Food Programme where he introduced GeoNode working on the release of GeoNode 1.2 and deployed a WFP instance.

From 2013 he works at the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission as Geospatial developer where he deployed an SDI for Syria Crisis Management.

He mostly develops in Python - Django, Javascript. Github https://github.com/simod
