mloskot: Folks, if possible I'd suggest to collect dates of start/end of life of projects as precise as possible, that's why I didn't grouped projects according to year but listed each year+project as a separate bullet.
Vehrka: Hi!, may I suggest to use MIT's timeline project to plot the info? Timeline project is part of the SIMILE project for improving data visualization and can be found here MIT's Timeline
