I'm using OSGeo Live DVD as a starrtup for a small GIS server under Linux, Currently working wuth OSGeo Live 5.5, updated to Ubuntu 12.04 with postgresql 9.1, QGis 1.8 and Geoserver 2.2. Data is mostly vector related to automotive transport, delivered via web services through Geoserver with openlayers/php programs. Working to update to postgis 2.0 and pgrouting 9.1. The project is not very well supported yet, nor widespread, but it is the only one at the time.
