Ionuț Iosifescu
Ionuț (pronounced "ionuts") is currently (2014) a senior researcher at the Institute of Cartography and Geoinformation at ETH Zurich, Switzerland. He graduated with a Diploma in Geodesy at the Technical University of Civil Engineering Bucharest in 2003, a M.Sc. in Computer Science at ETH Zurich in 2009, and completed his Ph.D. in Cartography at ETH Zurich under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Lorenz Hurni in 2011. He is specialized in Service-oriented Cartography, Web Cartography and online GIS with a focus on interoperability and open standards. He is a supporter of FOSS4G in research and higher education through the Open Source Geospatial Laboratory at ETH Zurich.
