GIS Consultant, RealDolmen Ghent, Belgium
I'm working as a GIS Consultant @ RealDolmen. Recent projects include implementing web and mobile gis systems and their backends, mostly based on open source components.
I hold a PhD in geology from Ghent University where I've developed techniques for mapping soils and water table dynamics.
I'm a contributor to SAGA GIS, Debian and Ubuntu GIS and the OSGEO live dvd. I blog infrequently at http://blog.gisky.be
I'm a fan of open source GIS software and have given different presentations about it:
- Open Source GIS in data analysis and science (OSGeo Belgium)
- Put your data on a map! (T-Dose, Eindhoven (the Netherlands))
- OSGeo Life, An Open Source Geospatial GNU/Linux Distribution at Foss4G Europe in Bremen.
At Fosdem 2013 I was also present at the OSGEO booth.
