By day I am a professor of biology at the Weizmann Institute of Sciences. By night I an an avid mapper. On weekends and early mornings I spend my time mountain biking and looking for new desert trails. A few years back I founded with 2 friends a website devoted to planning mapping and sharing nature trips in Israel. The site, see below, is based on open data from OSM and NASA and was developed using open source data. A small and devoted community of mappers, testers and coders formed around the project.
