About Marc Jansen

Marc has been using Open Source GIS-software since roughly 2004.

He is working as a software developer for terrestris in Bonn, Germany. He usually uses software components like OpenLayers, GeoExt, Mapserver, Geoserver and PostGIS to solve geospatial problems of all kinds. Additionally he is fairly familiar with Mapbender, Mapfish, GeoWebCache, Mapproxy, OGR and other tools/packages.

Together with User:Till Adams he wrote a German book about the software he loves: http://openlayers-buch.de/.

He has held workshops and training sessions about all components of a OSS SDI and has had the chance to participate in / give talks at FOSSGIS 2006 (Bonn, Germany), 2008 (Freiburg, Germany), 2009 (Hannover, Germany) and 2010 (Osnabrück, Germany). He also was a speaker at FOSS4G 2009 (Sydney, Australia) and 2010 (Barcelona, Spain).
