Rotation

The committee decided unanimously that FOSS4G-Asia will be organized as a bi-annual (every two years) counting form last FOSS4G-Asia that was organized in Hyderabad in January 2017. It was also decided that the next and future FOSS4G-Asia event will be organized between November-January period.

Proposal Phase

LoI submitted by Korea and Sri Lanka mentioned early 2018 as possible dates and both the proposers have agreed to consider change of dates to late 2018 (Nov-Dec) 2018, in keeping with the bi-annual schedule.

The selection committee also decide not to consider India as a venue for FOSS4G-Asia 2018 as the India was the venue for the FOSS4G-Asia 2017 also.

Considering the above, the Selection committee has shortlisted Japan, Korea and Sri Lanka as possible venue/host.

We now invite more detailed (max 4 A4 pages) proposal form the Local Organizers in Japan, Korea and Sri Lanka. The proposal should outline:

a) Dates
b) Venue
c) Availability of hotel rooms near venue and approximate cost
for single or shared rooms
d) Infrastructure available (Meeting rooms available with
capacity,Internet Access, Computer rooms for workshops etc.)
e) Main organizers and possible list of supporting organizations
f) Potential sponsors
g) Transportation and access to venue
h) Members of LoC
i) Any other information that will help the Selection committee to
arrive at a decision

The teams from Japan, Korea and Sri Lanka are required to answer several questions related to their bids, and to submit their answers by a specific time.
