For the two upcoming summer meetup dates – July 3rd & August 7th – we’ll be switching the meetup to be In-Person only and will meet at local venues rather than at Assembly Coworking Space (we’ll return to Assembly with an online presence again in September). We’d like to make these meetups an even more casual social gathering but also use this time to collect thoughts and input on a new initiative being supported by our OSGeo Alberta Chapter: OpenSource Connect (tentative name)

PROPOSED AGENDA : July 3, 2024

6.45pm: NO ONLINE MEETING JULY & AUGUST

For the two upcoming summer meetup dates – July 3rd & August 7th – we’ll be switching the meetup to be In-Person only and will meet at local venues rather than at Assembly Coworking Space (we’ll return to Assembly with an online presence again in September). We’d like to make these meetups an even more casual social gathering but also use this time to collect thoughts and input on a new initiative being supported by our OSGeo Alberta Chapter: OpenSource Connect (tentative name) There are many existing groups and meetups supporting or promoting use of open source technologies – Python, R, Unix, OSGeo projects of course, and more – and we believe there is a value in creating a venue specifically recognizing and promoting well and lesser-known opensource tools and technologies and showcasing collaborative examples and use cases.

This doc, provided in CryptPad end-to-end encrypted and open-source collaboration suite, contains a number of examples and we encourage you to add more, along with your questions and comments: https://cryptpad.fr/pad/#/2/pad/edit/Qz+GUt3MRYdkqEcMXGMznwI0/
