I am a forest scientist specialising in remote sensing and geospatial sciences. I work for the Coillte, the Irish State Forestry Board in Ireland.
I started using GRASS-GIS/R as part of my graduate research, and since then have been actively using testing and following other open-source projects including GDAL/OGR, UMN Mapserver and qgis. More recently I have been involved in the development of geospatial applications applied to forest inventory using GDAL, Orfeo Toolbox and pktools.
