Proposal

OSGeo's Season of Docs detailed proposal is to build guides and processes for cross-organizational glossaries, focusing initially on projects within the Open Source Geospatial Foundation (OSGeo).

Background

For 2021, OSGeo's Season of Docs proposal is to help address glossary challenges faced by many of OSGeo's projects.

Glossaries are easy to set up for simple examples but extremely hard to scale - especially when attempting to share partial or dated term lists between organizations.

The cross-organizational glossaries project covers software, information schemas and best practice processes required to set up and manage glossaries which have inter-dependencies with other glossaries.

Our focus is initially on glossaries within the geospatial domain, but problems we solve will be directly applicable to other domains too.
