I`m a geography professional working at the EDINA national data centre based at Edinburgh University. I`m a strong advocate of PostgreSQL/PostGIS, Python, QGIS and MapServer as a path to geospatial zen. I still consider ArcGIS as a friend though, despite our relationship being strained at times :).
