Following: (not necessarily in this order)
- Ashok Krishnamurthy spoke briefly with an update on his Ebola research, his work with R and other opensource tech, and specifically geospatial issues he is finding or solving for his work.
- Ashok is hoping to get help reducing the steps he has to do as part of clipping WorldPop data rasters using
Following: Discussion on some events and training.
- Stefan sent on TerraGIS info:
- Terra GIS is offering "Practical QGIS" - a 3 day class taught online December 7th through 9th, 2020 live from Seattle.
- Even though this is an online version of the class it will focus on learning QGIS doing practical exercises in a workshop style setting. ArcGIS users will learn how to easily transition to QGIS (or to using QGIS in addition to their existing GIS software/ toolset). Participants can choose to participate one, two or all three days. More information at http://www.terragis.net/gis-classes/practical-qgis/
- Terra GIS is offering "Practical QGIS" - a 3 day class taught online December 7th through 9th, 2020 live from Seattle.
- FOSS4G2021 "Come Hell or High Water" (which seems a bit brazen in these times. which I like) is launched - https://2021.foss4g.org/
- GISDay Geographies of Health and GIS Analysis research group at the O’Brien Institute of Public Health and is open to anyone with an interest in health and/or GIS. - https://events.ucalgary.ca/obrien/#!view/event/event_id/143419
- GoGeomatics event: https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/how-to-apply-for-geospatial-jobs-with-the-federal-government-of-canada-tickets-127874097869?utm_campaign=post_publish&utm_medium=email&utm_source=eventbrite&utm_content=shortLinkNewEmail
