Brazilian Chapter News

Following the 3rd. National Mapserver Users Meeting (ENUM in portuguese), local enthusiasts agreed to form a provisional comitee. The comitee was comprised of several prominent geopeople, from a variety of backgrouds: academia, bussiness, government agencies, and so forth.

First tasks were to establish communication channels. A list (brasil@lists.osgeo.org) and an IRC channel (#osgeo-br) were set. The provisional comitee wishes to thank our Executive Director, Tyler Mitchell for his splendid support on rolling this structure. There is also a wiki section (which lacks some widespread audience, tough) set up at wiki.osgeo.org/index.php/Brasil.

Further tasks are still waiting publication from designated persons.
