Memorandum of Understanding 2018
- This document is a DRAFT: discussions between the OSGeo and TIB are ongoing
- The goal is for both parties to sign the MOU at FOSSGIS/Code Sprint in Bonn in March 2018
Memorandum of Understanding between
- The Open Source Geospatial Foundation (OSGeo)
- and
- German National Library of Science and Technology (TIB)
Background
- TIB runs a web-based platform for quality-tested scientific videos from the realms of technology/engineering, architecture, chemistry, information technology, mathematics and physics, the TIB AV-Portal. A key feature of the portal is the use of different automated video analyses that allow the search in the spoken and written word. All videos are assigned a clear citation link (DOI) and digitally preserved
- The local committee of FOSS4G-Boston 2017 as part of their final report stressed the importance of video archives
Purpose
The purpose of this Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) is to establish a collaborative relationship between the Open Source Geospatial Foundation (OSGeo) and the German National Library of Science and Technology (TIB). Both parties to this MOU share the goal of helping share openly all global geo-information with all communities.
The MOU will cover the following proposals and topics:
Period of Agreement
This MOU will be reviewed biennially by both parties at which time revisions may be made and the agreement renewed.
