About me

I am a member of the Japanese FOSS4G community, based in Sapporo, Hokkaido, and work at MIERUNE Inc.

In 2010 I started a small QGIS study group in Sapporo. It grew into FOSS4G Hokkaido, which has been held every year since then. Many participants are not developers but local government staff, researchers and students who use QGIS and other FOSS4G tools in their work, so I have tried to keep the event open to beginners.

I have also worked on applying FOSS4G and open data to public services, together with local governments and civic tech projects.

I have served on the steering committee of the OSGeo Japan Chapter.
