Project Discussions

• We've been lucky to have two local organizations agree to explore ways our little group might help work on some of their GIS efforts.
  • Ann & Sandy Cross Conservation Area
    • Stefan Price provided an update and description of the area, its use, and some of the potential directions for the project
  • Kiyooka Ohe Arts Centre
    • Bob Morell, Chair, and Ricardo Castillo-Arguello, Director joined to provide some context and begin discussions on their hopes for a "walking tour" tool allowing visitors to walk the park and access sculpture specific information.
    • Yui talked about soem of the possibilities including a "story map" style presentation.
    • Lat Lon info on the sculptures was shared
    • SOME ACTIONS:
      • Scott will reach out to CivicTech Art Project team to see if their work can inform this new work (or be re-purposed in some way)
      • Yui will examine the lat lon info and look up any existing apps or technologies which might be used (cost is a factor)
      • Team will meet outside of monthly meetup

Some suggestions from the chapter for presentations include:

• Show us your side hustle
• Bring us your problems ( stuff you're working on and issues )
• teach something new ( OS Geo projects or other ).
