Sometimes pages get protected when they reach a status in which they are subject to approval and voting. Generally after voting they are copied to OSGeo's main site at http://www.osgoe.org. If you have concerns that a page should be protected or an existing protected page contains misleading or wrong information that you would like to edit then feel free to contact one of the OSGeo Wiki:Administrators.
