OSGeo Experience and Roles:
I works in the research center of the university Adolfo Ibañez, the focus in applied spacial research.
In the development research there is the of spatial tools, like GDAL, Postigis, R/SF, GRASS, QGIS and others, in this context there is an intense use of spatial tools, taking them to the limits, in our relation with open source, I talk with the spatial devs, try to solve them, while I mainly take the function of a tester, when something off is found or an issue, the idea is talk, ideally give good issues to the coder devs and follow with the feedback.
I also has very good luck to found bugs, which I can report.
In more personal aspects, I learn programming from early age, self-learner, in the university started talking more with python devs for issues and improvements, time passed and I started working, programming to me is a tool to create things, actually I'm moving all I can to Rust (still learning), I have used several languages across the years ,for today in work I use R/Rust, I can also handle at some extent SQL.
I like the open source communities while they are open to improve when is possible, my free time is usually games, learn and research mainly in math (probabilities) or experiments.
The world is big, learn from everyone, learn from all, and continue.
