Regarding the open source geospatial activities, he translated GRASS document from English to Korean such as a Introduction to GRASS(MARKUS NETER) and technical manuals of GRASS which were funded from KSIC in 2000. In 2012, he participated in OSGeo Korean chapter's translation of QGIS 1.7.0 user guide into Korean. In 2015, he organized FOSS4G for UN and developing countries session at the FOSS4G Seoul 2015 conference and supported the MOU between OSGeo foundation and Korea Land and Housing corp. LH, Korean public company. According to the MOU condition, in 2016, OSGeo Korean chapter and LH is preparing local conference to boost the open geospatial community in Korea.
