Cassidy is a commercial remote sensing and GIS application specialist, an Earth Observation System Scientist, and a geoAI tech entrepreneur. He holds a Ph.D. in Earth and Atmospheric Sciences and a B.Sc. in Biological Sciences from the University of Alberta. His doctoral research focused on satellite validation of remote sensing of global vegetation dynamics, landscape ecophysiology, and ecosystem productivity monitoring using networks of wireless IoT sensors. Cassidy lives in Calgary Alberta and has founded several companies for UAV-based surveying and geospatial analytics for insurance, agriculture, forestry, mining, and construction. He currently works on using airborne, orbital, and terrestrial sensing technologies for vegetation inventory modeling for enhanced forestry and environmental management.
