Translators

OSGeo translators,

The OGC has agreed to promote FOSS4G, and the Climate Challenge Integration Plugfest (CCIP) they are leading at FOSS4G, during their major OWS6 webinar. This is an excellent opportunities for us as these webinars are watched by thousands of geospatial people from around the world.

The webinars are also very interesting as they give a summary of the latest developments in OGC standards and give an insight into where the industry is moving in the next 5 to 10 years.

I hope you will be able to translate this press release into your own language and forward onto your local communities.

Of note, we now have a few email publishers who send marketing updates into the Asian region, who will likely take your translations and forward onto their communities (if you are able to get the translations in place by Sunday 31 May).

The translation wiki page is at: http://wiki.osgeo.org/wiki/OGC_Press_Release_1021_Translations

Thank you in advance for you continued efforts.

To Geospatial media collators relevant to the Australian and Asia/Pacific region,

This OGC webinar will likely be of interest to your readers/members. It provides an excellent status of the current direction of the OGC and provides insights into where the spatial industry will be heading in the next 5 to 10 years.

It also will be an excellent marketing tool for the international FOSS4G conference in Sydney later this year as the OGC will be promoting FOSS4G and their involvement in it during the webinar. http://2009.foss4g.org

I have asked the OSGeo volunteer translators to translate into their local languages. They have already done an excellent job translating our FOSS4G press releases, and we should have most translations in place by Monday 1 June.

Could you please forward this press release through your email lists.
