The OSGeo Logo was updated in November 2008. Please only use this version.
History
The original Logo was created in summer 2006 (see at right) following a call for proposals. We kept it for two years, it appeared on our first conferences, trade fair presences and t-shirts. It is still around in older publications.
2008
The redesigned logo was created in a long process and many discussions over more than a year. Technical reasons like better stichability were the initial reasons to update it but then a professional designer made a few suggestions and we have created a short story around it. Here it goes:
The tips of the compass rose have grown out of the outer ring. This is to show that OSGeo has grown beýond it's initial scop. The outer ring is open so that OSGeo can connect with others.
