Had a great few days off last week! Announced a few more new sponsors, posted their logo, spread the word... Discussing conference website hosting tools and issues Reconciling GDAL contracts and invoices for project sponsorship renewal Continued work on Annual Report, not just Financial Report side of it. Some work still remaining. Taking new logo to printers, etc. to check its use on new swag Finalising 501c3 application process. Document is complete and en route for signature and submission. Reviewing vision and effectiveness of organisation with this survey Gathering contact information for new charter members Set up survey re: conference events and FOSS4G deciding factors for attendance Announcing new sponsors (IGN France) and coordinating payments, etc. with additional ones. Finalising Financial Reports for Annual Report 2007 final release. Needing to revisit some really old transactions and re-order them in the accounting software, so that we accrued for income/expenses properly over the annual breaks. Reviewing marketing communication strategy document and reading up on long term planning processes. Also been handling finances for invoicing, expenses and general bookkeeping and reporting. Reviewing Journal system for preparation of next issue. General ongoing communication. Reviewing US Export rules direction and issues from community projects. Discussion and Debate Here are a few items that have come up for consideration or debate and that can use some further discussion: Organisation Direction - developing a vision for 2008/2009, including expanded programmes, budgets, performance metrics, etc. Conference Committee developing policy for 3rd Party delivered, OSGeo-branded events (e.g. "Teach-in") making more decisions about, and supporting, the system to be used by FOSS4G events Committee has been pretty quiet, does it need a boost or more volunteers? Marketing develop promotional material for use at events. Pre-printing and maybe some professional polish needed. Next steps being discussed on marketing list. new logo is almost ready and to be slowly rolled out. Some recommendations against this change, though some strong support for it too.
