This page tracks both general direction and user-submitted tasks for WebCom
General Direction
Current Work
- Flesh out the generic web site pages. New, about, contact, etc.
- Set up site structure to provide Compass-like navigation
- Establish News Queue
- Develop Content
Pending
- Work on web site overall style. (waiting for decision on tech infrastructure)
- Organize translation volunteers. (need technical infrastructure for multilang support)
- We need some mechanism(s) to ensure the folks realize material in the wiki is not authoritative. That it is essentially individuals working documents, not foundation policy.
User-submitted tasks
Submitted
- The "upload file" feature seems to insist on giving the error "The file is corrupt or has an incorrect extension. Please check the file and upload again." for any file I try. Am I doing something wrong, or..?
- "Upload file" feature is not working.. tried with jpgs and pngs always results in the above error. -- Mark Lucas
- Any exisiting or future OSGeo 'Member registration' webpage needs to include a "Member Responsibilities" section along with a mechanism(e.g. checkbox) to indicate explicit acceptance of those responsibilities. Existing "Members" should have to edit their membership to also indicate acceptance. This is so that if the " Membership Change and Revocation" issue as mentioned in the Proposed_Membership_Rules ever arises the Board knows that the Member did agree to 'the rules'.
- I've submitted seven webcommittee Project Tracker artifacts via CollabNet(SC30 through SC36). Not all will be relevant if CN is no longer being used, but these should be reviewed and, if appropriate, added to "the real issue tracker".
