This page has been initially been used to track the tasks for the Board during emergence of the organization. It now list some of the tasks that the board members take on within the organization OSGeo.

There are distinct tasks that the board of directors has to do. These involve:
- Appoint Executive Director
- Approve budget
- Approve policy and procedures
- Resolve any issues that cannot be resolved inside inside committees
- Formally represent OSGeo
