The FOSSGIS conference is the German language sibling of the UMN MapServer User Meeting 2004 in Ottawa, Canada, the OSG '05 Conference in Minneapolis, USA and FOSS4G 2006 conference in Lausanne, Switzerland. The FOSSGIS and its forerunners are taking place for the fourth time, this year again in Bonn, Germany on March 29 and 30, 2006. Sponsors and paid-for workshops allow for the main program to be free of cost to attend!

Program Development and CFP 06

The program has been developed collaboratively using Wiki technology. This method has first been adopted at the UMN MapServer Anwenderkonferenz 05 last year and the user community unanimously (see title 3.4) voted for doing it again this year.

The program lists 40 presentations and 12 workshops that are going to be presented in parallel sessions over two days. On the first day several Free and Open Source Software developer meetings take place in the afternoon where users, developers and sponsors can discuss further development face to face. After these community and development sessions a humble | reception and event will give people a chance to get to know each other personally and to continue discussion on open issues.

Find out more about the programm in the Conference Wiki and read the Introduction (German language).
