"It’s useless for all projects to have their own mailing list "

I disagree here. Most questions and discussion will always be project-specific and thus best done on the mailing-list(s) of the project. For example the OpenStreetMap-project. It wouldn't work out to combine the german, englich, franch, .. -discussion-lists, the developers-list, the routing-list and the -announce-list into one list. Let along do this by combining multiple FOSS-projects like the GRASS-community and OSM. --MarcusWolschon 06:48, 6 October 2008 (EDT)

Please define GPS-software

What exactly is ment by GPS-software in this context?

The GPS is one of a number of positioning-services and it is used by many very different kinds of applications. (For example Paparazzi-dones use it for navigation in the sky, JOSM-users for editing OSM-map-data, TravelingSalesman-users for routing over streets and geocachers for a moving map with annotations.) --MarcusWolschon 06:50, 6 October 2008 (EDT)
