Scratchpad for ideas for OSGeo Booth at FOSS4G

Venue Info

  • Tyler is looking into how much space we might be able to work with at the event
  • Paul Ramsey says "a lot". The "Prefunction" area in front of the registration desk is slated to hold the OSGeo booth. We are thinking probably backing the opposite side of the area from the reg. desk leaving an open area in between. So the OSGeo booth could easily be 30' by 20'. Random Ideas

  • Local chapter space ?
  • emphasize joining committees, etc. ?
  • show many demos ?
  • develop a mini-park in same spirit as OSGeo open source park at InterGeo ?
  • help promote non-software projects/ideas, ie. host local data and interop demo (discuss with conf. committee) ?
  • split booth between basic organisational info and software demos ?

  • John Graham will bring a small OptIPortal set up (2x3 displays, approx. 14 megapixels), with interactive 3d controller
