It can be a hands-on workshop if a venue with computers can be secured. Else it will just be a talk / lecture / demonstration. This could be in a public place like the Cape Town City Hall, distilling the coollest stuff from the conference, by a really exciting presenter. Something like 'GIS in your life and work' showing off web mashups, routing and GPS, LBS, cool website, web processing, desktop GIS, advanced analysis (cool maps and outputs), etc. Broadcast / video / podcast.

OpenStreetMap will be running a ‘Mapping Party’ in the streets of Cape Town which involves walking / cycling / driving with a GPS and editing and uploading your tracks to the free, public www.openstreetmap.org This promises to be lots of fun and you will also be working towards something useful.

The tour will take the delegates through how the Chief Directorate Surveys and Mapping operates.
