Topics cover all walks of geo life starting with reports from the fast growing community project OpenStreetmap then running allong Ruby on Rails and stretching to ministerial success stories about completely FOSS based spatial data infrastructures.

This year's workshop program introduces the software projects OpenLayers, Mapbender, kvwmap, GRASS, QGIS, gvSIG, deegree, UMN MapServer and GeoServer. Thematic workshops cover geo portal solutions, sensor GIS and a full scale SDI on a Live-CD.

Fossgis08-logo.png The FOSSGIS conference is the German language sibling of the FOSS4G conferences.


The FOSSGIS and its forerunners are taking place for the sixth time in Freiburg, Germany on April 01-03, 2008. Sponsors and paid-for workshops allow for the main program to be free of cost to attend!
