As part of the annual [http://cgs.nottingham.ac.uk/~osgis11/os_home.html OSGIS event held by University of Nottingham], OSGeo and OGC will be hosting an "Interoperability Day" to help teach and highlight the complimentary roles of open source software and OGC open standards. The day will be focused on OSGeo software and our approaches to interoperability using OGC specsSome presentations will be followed by hands-on workshops.

This is a proposed special event building on top of the successful and popular OSGIS event held hosted by the University of Nottingham each June (event seems tentatively set for June 21-22nd)This proposed event will be handled as an extra day added onto the OSGIS schedule or simply following the event, depending on options available through the host.

As part of the annual OSGIS event held by University of Nottingham, OSGeo and OGC will be hosting an "Interoperability Day" to help teach and highlight the complimentary roles of open source software and OGC open standards. The day will be focused on OSGeo software and our approaches to interoperability using OGC specs. Some presentations will be followed by hands-on workshops.

This special day is held at the beginning of the OSGIS event, all day on June 21, 2011.

Our tentative agenda will include:
