Bonjour, C'est avec plaisir que j'annonce l'officialisation du local chapter Francophone cet après-midi lors de la réunion du Bureau de l'OSGeo. Au niveau de l'organisation de local chapter il nous reste encore à mettre en place une association légale nous permettant de gérer des fonds afin d'être présent lors des divers événements Francophone. Les prochains mois verront la mise en place de différents projets, vous pouvez vous impliquer dans l'un d'eux ou bien en proposer un qui vous tient à coeur. Toutes les contributions sont les bienvenues. Merci à toutes les personnes qui ont déjà contribuées dans l'un des projets réalisés. Y.

On the 24th of September, the OSGeo Board accepted the formal creation of the Francophone Local Chapter. This is the first step toward a strong and stable Local Chapter and the next few months will see the creation of a legal association (OSGeo-fr) in order to increase its strength.
This Local Chapter aims to help address internationalization and localization issues in software and documentation, as well as consider specific Francophone problems while promoting OSGeo, GFOSS, open standards and free data.
The mailing list of the Francophone Local Chapter is a community of more than 115 subscribers from at least 8 different countries (including France, Switzerland, Canada, Belgium, Cote d'Ivoire, Togo, New-Caledonia, Italia), and the Francophone Local Chapter wiki category counts 54 articles. Le 24 septembre 2007, le Conseil de l'OSGeo a accepté la proposition de création de la Représentation Francophone. Il s'agit du premier pas vers une Représentation Locale forte et pérenne. Dans les prochains mois, une association légale (OSGeo-fr) va être créée pour renforcer son statut.
