Howdy,

I am a long-time GIS/IT/'Net junkie, and am currently working for the City of Nanaimo's IT department as a Sr. Applications Analyst (GIS Specialist). Basically, I ensure that spatial data moves around the organisation as it should and is published to internal and public web maps, as well as building and maintaining applications and databases in support of the City's services.

Until OSGeo's formation over a year ago, I had been hanging around the edges of open source GIS, but had not really had a push to do much other than using GDAL and Jump Workbench on my desktop. In the last year, I have become fully involved, working on the OSGeo Website Committee, joining the MapGuide Open Source project steering committee, and particpating in the local steering committee for FOSS4G2007.

The sophistication of today's open source GIS applications is truly impressive, and the potential for collaboration under OSGeo only raises my expectations higher. I look forward to working with you into the future.
