Smaller rooms, such as the Parkside G03 room used for the Making Maps Pretty and Making Maps Fast tutorial sessions on Wednesday, should generally be avoided unless it is known for certain that the audience for a particular topic is limited. Both of these tutorial sessions were standing room only before they even started, and people continued to trickle in (usually turning away in frustration). The G03 room was particular bad due to the large pillar that prevented a fairly large section of the room from being useful. Obviously it is impossible to predict the number of attendees for a given session unless the attendees are required to register for individual sessions. However, sensible choices should be made. These tutorial sessions would have been much better served taking place in the large auditorium or G04.
